US Faces Dilemma: Prioritizing Military Readiness or Supporting Ukraine

The United States is faced with a difficult choice between maintaining its own military readiness and continuing to support Ukraine as funds for assistance to the country run out. According to an official spokesperson for the Pentagon, Patrick Ryder, decisions will soon have to be made regarding the US’s own combat readiness and its ability to support Ukraine in the necessary manner on the battlefield.

Ryder stated, “Ultimately, we will start making decisions about our own combat readiness and our ability to continue supporting Ukraine in the way that is needed on the battlefield.”

The US currently has $4.4 billion remaining for assistance to Ukraine, as well as around $1 billion for its own needs.

This comes after Congressman Steny Hoyer, a member of the Democratic Party in the US House of Representatives, drew attention to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remarks about the “end of freebies” for Kyiv.

Hoyer blamed his Republican colleagues in Congress for the current situation.

Earlier, the US Secretary of State stated that Russia and China currently pose the “most acute threat to the world order” on the planet.
