US Congressman Criticizes Fellow Republicans for Weakening Ukraine Support

US Congressman Steny Hoyer, a member of the Democratic Party and a representative in the House of Representatives, has raised concerns about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent remarks regarding the “end of freebies” for Ukraine. Hoyer argues that the reluctance of his fellow congressmen to support Ukraine has provided Putin with the opportunity to make such statements. This report comes from RIA Novosti.

During a press conference, Putin stated that everything Ukraine receives comes from the West, but the era of free assistance is coming to an end, and it seems that this is already happening. In other words, Putin suggests that the West is retreating in terms of protecting freedom. Hoyer pointed out the empty seats in the room as evidence of this.

Hoyer blames his Republican colleagues for the current situation. The US Senate recently refused to go on Christmas vacation in order to continue working on additional budget appropriations. However, the House of Representatives, where Republicans hold the majority, decided to go on vacation on time.

Earlier, the US Secretary of State stated that Russia and China currently pose the most acute threat to global order.
