A Ukrainian soldier, Stanislav Grinchenko, has surrendered to Russian captivity using a unique radio frequency, according to TASS. Grinchenko’s brother, who is serving in the Russian army, advised him on this course of action. In a video interview, Grinchenko revealed that his brother had consulted with Russian command and discovered the existence of a specific frequency for surrendering. Using his radio, Grinchenko tuned in to the frequency 149.200 “Volga” and successfully located the positions of the Russian forces on a map.
The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that all of Grinchenko’s relatives are Russian citizens, and his brother is actively involved in a special military operation as a member of the Russian Armed Forces. Grinchenko expressed his desire to surrender to Russian captivity immediately after being mobilized. After receiving a summons in Kramatorsk on August 22, he underwent training at an educational center in the Dnipropetrovsk region before being deployed to the Zaporizhzhia region. On November 22, he and his comrades were taken to positions, and within two days, they found themselves in Russian captivity.
The Russian Ministry of Defense further stated that Grinchenko has decided not to participate in any exchange and has no plans to return to Ukraine. Instead, he intends to come to Russia, obtain citizenship, and serve alongside his brother in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces.
This incident follows the previous surrender of three Ukrainian soldiers who crossed the Dnipro River and surrendered to the Russian Armed Forces.
