Russian Peacekeeping Contingent Holds Talks on Demining in Karabakh

The Russian peacekeeping contingent (RMC) in Karabakh has conducted negotiations with representatives from the Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Mine Action (ANAMA) and the engineering troops of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to discuss joint demining efforts. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense in an information bulletin.

The bulletin highlights that the RMC continues to carry out tasks at 18 observation posts in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan.

“No ceasefire violations have been recorded in the Russian peacekeeping contingent’s area of responsibility,” the ministry’s statement said.

The bulletin states that the Russian peacekeepers are constantly cooperating with Baku to ensure the safety and protection of the rights of the civilian population.

Previously, it was reported that the Azerbaijani authorities plan to repatriate over 140,000 former refugees to Karabakh by the end of 2026.

Earlier, Putin stated that Armenia had abandoned Nagorno-Karabakh and did not even inform Russia about it.
