Russia Sends First Naval Drone for Testing in Special Military Operation Zone

In a recent interview with the newspaper “Vzglyad,” Captain Vasiliy Dandykin, a military expert of the first rank, commented on reports that the first Russian naval drone will be sent for testing in a special military operation zone. According to him, unmanned boats (UB) will be able to perform a range of important tasks, including targeting enemy port infrastructure, ships, and drones.

“UB will also accompany our ships in the Black Sea Fleet. If the enemy attempts to send their own boats towards us, our devices will be able to eliminate the threat with counterfire. In addition, drones can be launched for reconnaissance purposes and used as a launching pad for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV),” the expert added.

According to him, testing in combat conditions is necessary to identify any flaws in the device before launching it into serial production.

The director of the military-industrial holding KMZ, Mikhail Danilenko, announced the sending of the first Russian surface drone to the special military operation zone. He revealed that the working name for the high-speed carrier boat is “Oduvanchik” (Dandelion). Danilenko confirmed that the first experimental batch of ten drones is planned to be constructed by the end of 2023, and they will also undergo testing.

Previously, Russia has developed a new system for countering drones.
