Russian military forces have reportedly succeeded in destroying up to 30 Ukrainian servicemen in the Kherson region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense. In addition, the Russian army has managed to destroy three self-propelled artillery units called “Gvozdika” and a command post for unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the same area.
Earlier reports indicated that during the counter-battery combat operations in the Kherson region, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had targeted and damaged two Ukrainian howitzers D-20, as well as two self-propelled artillery units (SAU) known as “Gvozdika.” Furthermore, Russian forces also struck two howitzers of the “Msta-B” type.
On December 12, it was reported that units of the “Vostok” task force, in cooperation with aviation and artillery support, successfully repelled an attack and inflicted significant damage on the 79th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area near the settlement of Novomykhailivka. Kyiv reportedly suffered losses of up to 70 servicemen, three armored vehicles, an SAU “Akatsiya,” and two D-20 howitzers.
Prior to these incidents, Russian artillery units had targeted the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade in the Kherson region, as part of their special operations.
Earlier reports also highlighted the destruction of a concentration of Ukrainian armored vehicles by Russian SAU “Msta-S” units in the Kupyansk region.
These recent developments in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine underscore the growing intensity of the fighting and the heavy toll it continues to exact on the Ukrainian military.
