The United States Missile Defense Agency and American company Boeing have successfully conducted a test intercept of a ballistic missile in space, according to a statement from Boeing as reported by RIA Novosti.
The organization stated that the successful intercept took place as part of a midcourse defense ground-based missile defense test, which provides more time and maneuverability to destroy ballistic missiles.
“In the test, the interceptor released an exoatmospheric kinetic vehicle during the rocket’s second-stage acceleration of its three-stage flight,” the statement said.
Previously, The New York Times reported that US President Joe Biden was uncertain about whether the American tactical ballistic missiles ATACMS could change the situation in favor of Ukraine in the conflict zone.
Earlier, it was reported that the launch of the American ballistic missile Minuteman III had failed.
