Supply to Ukrainian Armed Forces Impacted by Polish Truckers’ Strike at Ukraine Border

The ongoing strike by Polish truckers at the Ukraine border has caused disruptions in the supply chain for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), warned Ukrainian charitable organizations and military suppliers. Associated Press reports that the blockade, which has been going on for a month, shows no signs of ending, resulting in mounting problems for the UAF.

According to the publication, key components for unmanned aerial vehicles and around 200 pickups that could be used for transporting ammunition are among the items stuck in the 30-kilometer-long queue of trucks. With waits of up to three weeks in freezing weather, the situation has become increasingly dire.

However, Polish truckers deny that military shipments are being delayed. Valdemar Yashur, the organizer of the protest, claimed that aid for the military is being expedited without any delay.

Ukrainian truckers, on the other hand, disagree, stating that providing documentation proving the cargo’s affiliation with the military “does not significantly affect the protesters.”

The strike by Polish truckers, which has resulted in the blockade of transportation at the Ukraine border, began on November 6th. Slovakian transporters later joined the strike.

On December 10th, it was reported that a queue of thousands of vehicles had formed at the Polish-Ukrainian border.

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities had revealed how the protests by Polish truckers had impacted weapon deliveries.
