The spokesperson for the press center of the Russian forces in the “Vostok” group, Alexander Gordeev, has announced that the Russian military was able to thwart three attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to rotate their troops in the Southern Donetsk direction. He made this statement to RIA Novosti.
“The units of the ‘Vostok’ group continue to carry out combat tasks in the Southern Donetsk direction. During active defense with artillery fire, three rotation attempts by the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Zolotaya Niva and Novodoneck were stopped,” Gordeev said.
It is noted that the artillery was able to inflict damage on the personnel and equipment of the 79th Airborne Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Novomykhailivka.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian units had repelled an attack by the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and thwarted their rotation in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). According to Chekhov, with the support of artillery and aviation, the attack was successfully repelled and the rotation of units of the 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Novodoneck area was disrupted. Artillery strikes destroyed the temporary deployment points of the first battalion of this brigade in the Urozhainoye area, as well as the 118th Territorial Defense Brigade in the Makarovka area.
Earlier, a retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) pointed out the emergence of panic among the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
