Hezbollah Denies Plans for Escalation with Israel, Shifts Responsibility to US and Israel

Hezbollah, the Shiite political party, has stated that they do not intend to expand military actions with Israel in southern Lebanon. Hashem Safieddine, the head of the party’s executive committee, made this announcement during a meeting with party activists in Beirut. Safieddine emphasized that they are not seeking further conflict with Israel.

According to Safieddine, Israel has been the instigator of all wars in the Middle East, and it is incorrect to hold Hezbollah responsible for the escalation of the current conflict in the region. He stated that their firm position is aimed at preventing aggression and that any display of weakness will be exploited by Israel. Safieddine also reaffirmed that Hezbollah is ready to counter any threats.

When asked about the possibility of a large-scale war, Safieddine redirected the question to the United States and Israel, as these countries are the ones making such decisions in the Middle East.

Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that any possible escalation from Hezbollah on the Lebanese-Israeli border could lead to the destruction of Lebanon.

Earlier, the Israeli army reported intercepting a “suspicious target” from Lebanon.
