On October 26, the jury heard crucial testimony from pediatrician Dr. Sally Smith, who formerly served as the medical director for JHAC’s Child Protection Team. Dr. Smith accused Beata Kowalski of medically abusing Maya Kowalski in a highly anticipated trial. Meanwhile, a tragic incident unfolded in West Palm Beach, Florida, where a pastor and his newlywed wife were shot and killed in their own home. The suspect, Sony Josaphat, has been apprehended by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the double homicide. The names of the victims have yet to be disclosed, but it was revealed that the couple had just gotten married on December 2, which also happened to be the bride’s birthday.
Relatives of the bride, who works as a nurse practitioner, shared that she had never been happier than she was at that moment. Both victims were originally from Haiti, according to reports. The sheriff’s office stated that deputies responded to the shooting incident at around 8:36 p.m. in the 12000 block of Summit Run Circle, where they discovered the lifeless bodies of a male and female with gunshot wounds. Shockingly, three of the wife’s children were present in the house during the shooting, and one of them witnessed the tragic event.
Authorities have not released the identities of the victims, as the family invoked a Florida law that protects the privacy of crime victims. Sony Josaphat, the suspect, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is currently being held without bond.
