Syrian Air Defense Engages Israeli Aggression Near Damascus

Syrian air defense systems have successfully intercepted incoming fire targeting Damascus and its suburbs, according to reports from the SANA news agency.

The statement reveals that Syrian air defense forces have responded to the aggressive attack and are firing at aerial targets.

It is noted that the attack was initiated by the Israeli Air Force.

Earlier, Deputy Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, stated that Israeli F-16 fighters had struck targets near Damascus with guided bombs. However, the majority of the aerial targets were successfully neutralized by the Russian-made Pantsir-S and Buk-M2E air defense systems.

According to Kulit, the US-led anti-terrorist coalition violated deconfliction protocols three times.

Prior to this incident, Kulit mentioned that two Israeli Air Force F-16 fighters had conducted a strike with guided aerial bombs on infrastructure targets in the vicinity of Damascus. The strike took place on November 17th between 2:22 and 2:32 Moscow time.

Kulit highlighted that the Syrian air defense forces, equipped with the Russian-made Buk-M2E and Pantsir-S1 systems, were able to shoot down five aerial bombs.

Earlier, Syria called upon Arab nations to boycott Israel.
