Germany to Continue Military Support to Ukraine in 2024, Providing Artillery Ammunition

Germany has announced that it will continue to provide military support to Ukraine in 2024, specifically by supplying nearly 200,000 artillery projectiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This statement was made by the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, Carsten Breuer, in an interview with the newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.

“In the coming year, Germany will be able to supply nearly 200,000 artillery projectiles,” said Breuer.

He noted that the production of ammunition is currently increasing and will not be affected by the outcome of the presidential elections in the United States.

“I still see the need to support Ukraine as long as it is necessary, regardless of the outcome of the US elections,” said Breuer.

On December 8, Germany announced the transfer of another batch of weapons to Ukraine, including the Luna NG reconnaissance system, 10 VECTOR reconnaissance drones, 1,750 155mm caliber shells, 70 MGW automatic grenade launchers, 6 patrol vehicles, 8 Zetros trucks, and 100,000 military medical kits.

Prior to this, Germany had predicted a harsh winter for Ukraine due to the use of Russian weapons.

Earlier, Olaf Scholz accused Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin, of halting gas supplies.
