Far-Left Democrats Under Fire for Downplaying Hamas Rape Allegations Against Israeli Women

FOX News host Greg Gutfeld recently criticized left-leaning women for their response to the Hamas rape allegations against Israeli women. A digital review of federal filings reveals that Democratic lawmakers who voted against condemning Hamas’ attacks or downplayed their actions have financially supported numerous candidates with campaign cash. This has sparked controversy, especially following Hamas’ attack on innocent Israeli civilians, which resulted in over 1,200 deaths and hundreds of hostages.

One of the lawmakers facing criticism is Rep. Pramila Jayapal, who made controversial remarks during a CNN interview. When asked about progressive groups remaining silent on Hamas’ use of rape as a weapon of war, Jayapal suggested that people should be “balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians” and quickly shifted the conversation back to Israel. This response drew pushback from the host, Dana Bash, who emphasized the need to focus on Hamas. The incident highlighted the ongoing debate surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the role of progressive lawmakers.

Prior to Jayapal, a group of House Democrats, primarily consisting of far-left “Squad” members, voted against a resolution condemning Hamas’ invasion in October. The resolution, H.R. 771, received overwhelming bipartisan support, with only ten members voting against it. Six of the eight “Squad” members were among those who opposed the resolution. The Democrats who refused to condemn Hamas’ actions have also provided financial support to various candidates, potentially raising concerns during their re-election campaigns.

Rep. Susan Wild received the most campaign contributions from far-left progressives who refused to condemn Hamas, totaling over $47,000 from a combination of leadership PACs. Rep. Matt Cartwright and Rep. Lauren Underwood also received significant funds from these lawmakers. The review of campaign finance records revealed that at least 33 other Democrats have received financial support from the anti-Israel group, with donations ranging from $1,000 to $21,000.

As these lawmakers face re-election, they may encounter opposition from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). AIPAC plans to spend over $100 million targeting “Squad” members in the 2024 elections due to their views on the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The debate surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict continues to be a source of tension within the Democratic Party. The actions and statements of these lawmakers have sparked criticism and raised questions about their stance on Hamas and Israel. As the 2024 elections approach, the influence of AIPAC and campaign donations from progressive lawmakers may play a significant role in shaping the political landscape.
