Signs of Hamas’ Decline Evident as Terrorists Surrender in Gaza, Says Israeli Military Chief

The Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Gadi Eizenkot, has stated that the IDF has observed signs of the Hamas leadership’s weakening control in the Gaza Strip. According to the Times of Israel, Eizenkot has claimed that the Israeli side has been witnessing daily successes. He asserts that in recent days, there has been a situation where terrorists are surrendering. Eizenkot sees this as an indication of the system’s breakdown and emphasizes the need for Israel to act more diligently.

Previously, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated in an interview with Channel 12 that Israel has not received any restrictions from the United States regarding the timing of the military operation in the Gaza Strip.

According to Lieberman, the United States understands that they cannot dictate to the IDF how much time it will take to achieve its goals. Additionally, the official expressed confidence that Washington agrees with Israel’s objective of freeing all hostages held in the Gaza Strip.

On December 9th, the U.S. State Department approved the shipment of tank shells and related equipment worth $106.5 million to Israel.

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant stated that after a brief ceasefire, the operation in Gaza will continue for at least two more months.
