Russian tank crews from the Western Military District (WMD) have reportedly launched an attack on a Ukrainian military position in the Kupyansk direction, successfully destroying their intended targets. The Russian Ministry of Defense shared this information, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the ministry, crews of T-80BVM tanks from the WMD participated in the operation. The soldiers detected Ukrainian military equipment using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and subsequently attacked the Ukrainian positions.
“The tank crews, from concealed firing positions, destroyed three armored vehicles and two armored personnel carriers of the enemy. The fire was adjusted using unmanned aerial vehicles, and their cameras recorded the hits,” the statement clarifies.
The ministry also added that Russian Armed Forces tank crews have the capability to operate either directly or from concealed firing positions along the contact line. By choosing the latter option, the soldiers remain unnoticed by Ukrainian combatants.
Furthermore, the commander of one of the Russian tank platoons, with the call sign “Sokol,” emphasized that the crews destroy Ukrainian strongholds and observation posts daily in the area of the Special Military Operation (SMO). Additionally, the Russian Armed Forces regularly strike Ukrainian ammunition depots and equipment.
Earlier, the Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) revealed the activities of Western media outlets in the vicinity of the city of Kupyansk.
