Slovakia Approves Financial Aid for Ukraine’s Demining Efforts

Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yuri Blanar, has approved a financial contribution of 750,000 euros for the purchase of two “Bozena” demining systems, which will be handed over to Ukraine. This was reported by teraz.sk.

The publication highlights that Blanar has authorized the financial aid of 750,000 euros for the acquisition of two “Bozena 4+” demining systems, which are intended for humanitarian demining in Ukraine.

Prior to this, the US Congress did not approve any aid packages for Ukraine following the election of the new Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson.

Johnson assumed the position of Speaker on October 25. The date for the consideration of the bill to allocate new aid to Ukraine has not yet been approved. President Joe Biden had previously requested $106 billion in assistance for Ukraine and Israel, but did not receive support in Congress. The House of Representatives, which is predominantly composed of Republican Party representatives, voted to allocate funds to Israel, but the Democratic-controlled Senate blocked the delivery of aid.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Ukraine has lost more than half of its voters.
