Israeli Army Captures Dozens of Hamas Supporters, Including Commanders, in Recent Operations

During a briefing, the official spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Daniel Haggari, announced that supporters of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas have surrendered and been captured. According to TASS, over the past 48 hours, Israeli military forces have detained more than 200 individuals.

Haggari revealed that “over the past 48 hours, we have detained over 200 suspects, dozens of whom have been handed over to the 504 Intelligence Corps and the General Security Service for investigation in Israel.” Among those captured are commanders of Hamas combat units and members of the radical group’s special forces unit, known as “Nukhba.”

Earlier, Reuters reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden had requested Congress to approve the sale of 45,000 shells for Israeli Merkava tanks. These shells are intended for use by the Israeli army in its offensive operations in the Gaza Strip. The US believes that these shells are necessary for the success of Israel’s operation in the Gaza Strip.

Previously, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant stated that following a brief ceasefire, the operation in Gaza is expected to last at least two months.
