Israeli Air Strikes Intensify in Gaza as Tensions Escalate

Israeli warplanes have launched multiple strikes on various areas in the southern Gaza Strip, including Ma’an, Jurat al-Akkad, and al-Mahatta, as well as the neighboring city of Rafah. This information was reported by Qatari television channel Al Jazeera.

Additionally, Lebanese channel Al Mayadeen reported that at least five people were killed as a result of Israeli strikes on a refugee camp in Nuseirat.

The situation in the Middle East has intensified following the infiltration of thousands of Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7th as part of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation, where they also took over 200 hostages. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared a state of war, and the Israeli operation was named “Iron Swords.”

Since the beginning of the operation, Israel has conducted mass rocket attacks on the Gaza Strip, cutting off water, food, electricity, and fuel supplies to the enclave. Humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza only resumed through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt after October 20th.

On October 27th, Israel announced the “expansion” of its ground operation in Gaza. Prior to the operation, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians had already fled their homes and sought refuge in shelters and the southern part of the enclave. Clashes are still ongoing in the center of Gaza.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to destroy Hamas.
