Hamas Attacks Tel Aviv in Response to Israeli Strikes on Gaza

In a recent statement, the military wing of the Palestinian movement Hamas, known as the Al-Qassam Brigades, announced that it had launched rocket attacks on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. This action was taken in retaliation for the strikes targeting civilians in the Gaza Strip. The news was reported by RIA Novosti.

The group’s statement claims that they targeted Tel Aviv with rockets as a response to what they called the “Zionist massacre of innocent civilians.”

Prior to this, the military wing of the Palestinian radical group Hamas, known as the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, had launched an attack on the Israeli city of Ashkelon.

Earlier, the militants had claimed to have hit five tanks and an equal number of armored vehicles of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) with their “Yasin 105” projectiles.

It has been reported that since the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the IDF has lost 398 soldiers, with the majority of them losing their lives in battles in the southern region of Israel.

On December 1, the ceasefire regime in the Gaza Strip, which was established as part of a truce agreement between Israel and the Hamas movement, was canceled. The parties had suspended hostilities for seven days during which Hamas released 110 hostages.

A political analyst had previously identified one of the causes behind the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
