Air Raid Sirens Sound Across Ukraine as Attacks on Infrastructure Continue

Air raid sirens blared across eight regions of Ukraine on the morning of December 8, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The sirens were reported to have started sounding around 7:30 am (Moscow time) in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv regions, and in parts of the Zaporizhzhia region under Ukrainian control. Fifteen minutes later, the alarm was also declared in the Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and Cherkasy regions.

It was also reported that a series of explosions occurred in Kharkiv during the night of December 8. Air raid sirens have been sounding in the region since 2:54 am (Moscow time).

Since October 10, 2022, two days after the attack on the Crimean Bridge, the Russian Armed Forces have been launching strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure. Since then, air raid sirens have been declared daily in various regions of Ukraine, sometimes even across the entire country. According to statements from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the attacks target objects in the energy sector, defense industry, military command, and communication facilities throughout the republic.

Earlier, Ukraine outlined conditions for negotiations with Russia.
