Ukraine Considers New Draft Law for Mobilization of Men

Ukraine is currently considering a new draft law that would require men of conscription age to report to their local military enlistment office within 48 hours of receiving a summons. This development was announced by Fyodor Venislavsky, a member of the Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The Ukrainian Service of BBC reported this news.

According to the publication, on December 5th, Venislavsky revealed that the committee had drafted several laws regarding mobilization in the country. One of these proposed laws involves the introduction of procedures for delivering summonses via email and registered mail.

Once a citizen receives such a document, they will be required to report to the territorial recruitment center within 48 hours, as stated in the publication.

Prior to this, it was reported that a petition calling for the mobilization of deputies and officials in Ukraine had reached the necessary 25,000 signatures for consideration, just three days before the deadline.

The petition urges the examination of “urgent draft laws that promote fair mobilization of citizens, including deputies and civil servants of Ukraine.”

Earlier, an individual from Odessa managed to avoid receiving a summons by bombarding the military enlistment officials with questions.
