Russian paratroopers have successfully neutralized enemy radar and communication capabilities in Ukraine with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) known as “Lancet.” The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that two radar stations and a mobile communication station belonging to the adversary were destroyed on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson region.
The paratroopers’ reconnaissance drones detected a radar station (RLS) ST-68 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the rear area of the enemy. To eliminate this threat, the decision was made to utilize the “Lancet” UAVs with their barrage ammunition. The “Lancet” UAVs effectively disabled the Ukrainian radar station with a direct hit.
Following this success, the reconnaissance team identified and neutralized another enemy radar station, the P-18, and a mobile communication station. The “Lancet” UAVs once again proved their effectiveness in rendering these targets inoperative.
Military expert Yuri Knutov previously highlighted the advantage of the Russian-made “Lancet” UAVs, stating that their composite construction makes them less detectable by radar stations.
Acknowledging Russia’s superiority in the use of FPV drones, the commander of the UAF emphasized the need for countermeasures to address this advantage.
This recent operation by Russian paratroopers showcases the significant impact of UAV technology in modern warfare, particularly in reconnaissance and precision strikes. The successful destruction of enemy radar and communication stations further demonstrates the effectiveness of these unmanned systems in disrupting and neutralizing enemy capabilities.
