Runaway Pig Causes Chaos in New Jersey Neighborhood

A pig named Albert Einswine caused quite a commotion in a New Jersey neighborhood as it led police on a wild chase. The incident occurred in Deptford Township after the pig escaped from a farm in the town’s New Sharon section. The runaway pig was eventually apprehended after a 30-minute pursuit.

The Department of Deptford Township Police shared a video of the officers attempting to wrangle the pig with a slip collar, but Albert Einswine proved to be quite elusive. The officers can be heard pleading with the pig as they tried to capture it, while their colleagues laughed at the scene.

Detective Sgt. Bob Jones revealed that the video only captured a portion of the chase, as they had to pursue the pig for a quarter mile. He also shared that pigs are faster than they appear, making the task more challenging. Despite the pig’s efforts to escape, it was eventually caught and returned to its owner.

The pig, who is four years old, was humorously described as being “released on his own recognizance” by the police department. The officers shared a photo with the collared pig on Facebook, adding a lighthearted caption that acknowledged the amusing nature of the situation.

While this incident may have caused some chaos in the neighborhood, it serves as a reminder that unexpected events can happen at any time. The police department handled the situation with humor and professionalism, ensuring the safety of both the pig and the community.
