In a recent statement, US Senator Chris Murphy, a Democrat from Connecticut, voiced his concerns about the ongoing debate in Congress over the ownership of Kiev, whether it belongs to Ukraine or Russia. According to Defence One, Murphy expressed his frustration, stating, “We are currently deciding whether Kiev is a Russian or Ukrainian city.”
The senator criticized his Republican colleagues in Congress for not taking the situation on the Ukrainian front seriously enough. Murphy claimed that they seem unconcerned about the future of Ukraine and whether it will remain independent or fall under Russian control.
This is not the first time Senator Chris Murphy has raised concerns about US support for Ukraine. He previously stated that the United States is likely to abandon Ukraine due to the political games played by Republicans.
According to Murphy, withdrawing support for Ukraine could potentially lead to an armed conflict in Europe.
Earlier, the US identified one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSYA).
