Protests by Polish Truckers Cause Delay in Deliveries of Military Aid to Ukraine

Charitable and non-governmental organizations providing military assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have had to delay deliveries of drones, electronics, and pickups for several weeks due to protests by Polish truckers. Reuters reported this information, citing sources.

“Thousands of trucks with commercial goods have been stranded at border crossings between Poland and Ukraine for several weeks due to protests that began on November 6. On December 1, carriers in Slovakia started a similar blockade,” the statement said.

According to the agency’s sources, weapons and equipment will continue to enter the country, but at a much slower pace.

It is noted that while the protesters are allowing military trucks to pass, many shipments intended for the AFU are purchased by civilian organizations and transported on commercial vehicles, which are not permitted to bypass the blockade.

Earlier, Polish carriers threatened to intensify protests at the border with Ukraine.

Previously, Poland had announced the importation of luxury items into Ukraine under the guise of military cargo.
