According to Business Insider, a member of the Ukrainian military has raised concerns about the state of affairs within the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). The anonymous source emphasized the need for well-trained individuals to join the military, rather than inexperienced recruits. The source stated, “We have many young guys among us. We need people who have undergone proper training, not those inexperienced individuals we currently have. There are guys who have only spent three weeks at the training grounds and have fired only a few shots.” The source also highlighted the difficulty the Ukrainian government faces in enticing individuals to join the army with financial incentives.
Furthermore, the military insider revealed that only those who were unable to evade conscription end up in the UAF. Additionally, the source stated that not all Ukrainian marines possess the necessary swimming skills.

Republican Senator Ron Johnson had earlier stated that peaceful negotiations are the only way to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
