Ukrainian Military Officials Admit War in Ukraine at a Standstill

According to the Washington Post, Ukrainian military officials have acknowledged that the conflict in Ukraine has reached a stalemate with the onset of winter.

As the front line freezes in place during the winter months, the highest-ranking Ukrainian military officials admit that the war has come to a standstill, the newspaper reports.

The article states that the offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not yield the expected results due to the formidable defense line of Russian forces.

“Russian helicopters, drones, and artillery destroy Ukrainian armored vehicles with every attempt to advance. Without air support, the only option would be to use artillery to shell Russian positions, disembark from vehicles, and proceed on foot,” the article says.

Former US Armed Forces intelligence officer Scott Ritter had previously suggested that Ukraine should acknowledge the loss of territories in exchange for peace.

Earlier, a history professor from Cork University College speculated that Russia could gain control over the entire territory of Ukraine up to the Dnieper River.
