Russian General Killed in Ukraine Conflict, Governor Confirms

In a tragic development, Governor Alexander Gusev of the Voronezh region has confirmed the death of Deputy Commander of the 14th Army Corps of the Northern Fleet, Major General Vladimir Zavatsky, in the military operation zone in Ukraine. Gusev made the announcement in his Telegram channel.

“On the front lines of the special operation zone, Deputy Commander of the 14th Army Corps of the Northern Fleet, Major General Vladimir Zavatsky, was killed. I am convinced that the name of Vladimir Zavatsky, a courageous officer, a true general, and an honorable person, will forever remain in the annals of our homeland’s glory,” wrote the regional governor.

Gusev reminded everyone that Zavatsky had previously commanded the 4th Guards Kantemirovskaya Tank Division until August 2021, and the Voronezh region had maintained good relations with this division. The governor noted that Zavatsky had always set an example of loyalty and duty to the motherland.

The death of General Zavatsky was reported on November 29. According to preliminary information, he was killed by a mine explosion near Izyum in the Kharkiv region while carrying out a combat mission.

Earlier, there were reports of the death of Colonel Jan Sukhanov, the Chief of Staff of the 810th Separate Marine Infantry Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet’s Guards.
