Israeli Airstrikes on Refugee Camp in Gaza Leave 14 Dead

Moscow, December 3 – At least 14 people have become victims of an Israeli airstrike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central part of the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian news agency WAFA. The publication states, “Israeli military planes are bombing homes in the Nuseirat refugee camp, claiming the lives of 14 innocent people.” It is noted that among the casualties are women and children, and there are also many injured. According to the agency, the number of victims is expected to increase as people are still being rescued from the rubble.

At the end of November, Tel Aviv and Hamas agreed on a ceasefire for the exchange of hostages and prisoners, with Qatar mediating the negotiations. The ceasefire was in effect from the morning of November 24 until the morning of December 1. However, it was not possible to extend it as the Israel Defense Forces stated that the Palestinian movement violated the agreements and opened fire on the territory of the Jewish state, leading to the resumption of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. During the ceasefire, 110 hostages were released. According to Israeli authorities, Hamas still holds 137 people in captivity – 126 Israelis and 11 foreigners.
