A shocking incident unfolded in Nashville, Tennessee, as an 81-year-old man was arrested after repeatedly stabbing his daughter during an argument outside a home. Floyd Allen Seay has been charged with attempted criminal homicide following the disturbing incident that took place on Monday afternoon in the South Nashville area.
According to reports, Metro Nashville Police responded to a call about a domestic disturbance at around 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim with stab wounds to her chest, lower neck, and cheek. She was immediately rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where medical professionals were able to stabilize her despite suffering serious injuries.
Eyewitnesses at the scene provided video evidence to investigators, which allegedly showed Seay and his daughter engaged in a heated verbal argument that quickly escalated into a physical altercation. The footage reportedly captured Seay forcefully pulling his daughter’s head and striking her multiple times in the face. He then retreated into the house, only to return moments later with a kitchen knife, which he used to repeatedly stab his daughter.
In a chilling account, a witness stated that after the stabbing, Seay stood up, handed the knife to a neighbor, and confessed, “I tried to kill her, but I couldn’t.”
During questioning, Seay admitted to intentionally grabbing the knife but claimed to be unsure of why he did so. He attributed the escalation of the fight to “everything that had been building up” and chillingly expressed that he would do it again if given the opportunity.
Law enforcement promptly took Seay into custody, and he has since been booked into Metro Jail with a bond set at $500,000.
