Russian Company Develops New Drone for Reconnaissance

Russian company Kotlin-Novator has recently developed and launched a new unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) called “Vetor” for serial production. The drone is specifically designed for reconnaissance purposes. In an interview with TASS, Vladislav Udal’tsov, the head of the company’s UAV laboratory, revealed that there are plans to optimize and upgrade the drone in the future. By 2024, the company aims to produce approximately 100 sets per month, with production volume dependent on orders and expansion of facilities.

The “Vetor” UAV was created as an alternative to Chinese drones. Udal’tsov explained that during the year-long development of this project, numerous issues with unmanned aviation in Russia were identified, including a shortage of electronic components, unprotected radio control channels, and a sharp increase in the cost of consumables, among others.

The “Vetor” UAV is a small quadcopter-type drone with a weight of 1.8 kg and the ability to carry a payload of up to 1 kilogram.

In addition, Russia has recently developed a new system for countering drones.
