US Considers Extending Humanitarian Ceasefire in Gaza

The United States is considering the possibility of extending the humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, according to Jake Sullivan, the National Security Advisor. In an interview with NBC, Sullivan expressed the US’s desire for the ceasefire to continue.

However, he emphasized that the final decision rests with the Hamas movement, the Palestinian governing body in Gaza. Sullivan stated that if Hamas is willing to release additional hostages, the ceasefire could be extended for several more days. The ball is in Hamas’s court, as the White House representative added.

Previously, it was reported that Egypt has been actively consulting with Qatar and the United States regarding the extension of the ceasefire in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On November 25th, Egypt announced receiving positive signals from all parties involved, suggesting a two-day extension of the ceasefire. The main objective of this initiative, as reported by Al Qahera News, is to secure the release of as many people as possible from Hamas captivity and Israeli prisons.

Earlier, Hamas provided Israeli authorities with a list of hostages to be released on November 26th, marking the third group of hostages to be freed.
