Hope for New Hostage Exchange Between Hamas and Israel

There is hope for a new hostage and prisoner exchange between the Palestinian movement Hamas and Israel, according to Boris Michel, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Moscow, as reported by RIA Novosti.

Michel stated that the organization is not directly involved in the negotiations between the parties regarding the location and timing of the exchange, but rather facilitates its practical aspects.

“Over the past three days, the operation has taken place, so there is hope that an agreement will be reached, but it is not up to the ICRC,” Michel added.

The head of the Red Cross delegation emphasized that the organization is ready to fulfill its role as a neutral intermediary and assist in ensuring the transfer.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, stated that the ministry highly appreciated the release of a Russian citizen held by the Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, along with other hostages.

Former residents of the Gaza Strip who have left the area have previously shared their experiences of living in a conflict zone.
