Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter Remembered in Memorial Tribute Service

Former First Lady Melania Trump is set to join other leaders and contemporaries in a memorial tribute service for former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. The event, which will take place at Emory University in Atlanta, will also see the presence of other living former first ladies, including Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush, according to a news release from the Carter Center.

The invitation-only service will be attended by President Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and second gentleman Doug Emhoff. Notably absent from the guest list is former President Donald Trump, who did not receive an invitation. The Trump campaign has been contacted for comment.

Rosalynn Carter passed away last week in Georgia at the age of 96 after being admitted to a hospice. Her husband, former President Jimmy Carter, will also be present at the tribute service. The couple had been married for an impressive 77 years.

The memorial tribute service will feature the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, performing some of Rosalynn Carter’s most beloved tunes, as stated by the Carter Center.

This event serves as a moment to remember and honor the life and legacy of Rosalynn Carter, who played a significant role as the First Lady of the United States. Her contributions to various causes and initiatives will be celebrated by her contemporaries and leaders from both sides of the political spectrum.
