US Pentagon Chief Holds Talks with Ukrainian Counterpart on Military Assistance

The head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart, Rustem Umerov, regarding the provision of military aid to Ukraine. This was reported by TASS, citing the press secretary of the Pentagon, US Air Force General Patrick Ryder.

The telephone conversation between Austin and Umerov took place on Saturday, November 25. During the talks, Austin and Umerov discussed the situation on the frontlines and priorities in providing military assistance to Ukraine from the West.

The US is running out of funds from the latest allocated tranche for supplying the Ukrainian army – the last package of military aid amounted to only $100 million, against the billions invested in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in previous months.

Prior to this, American businessman Elon Musk admitted that he is concerned about the shortage of ammunition in the US due to the supply of weapons to the Ukrainian conflict zone.

The billionaire commented on a post by businessman and investor David Sacks. The latter stated that Washington has not yet resolved the problem of ammunition shortage, which arose due to assistance to Kyiv.

Earlier, the Pentagon reported the transfer of almost all weapons supplies to Ukrainian forces.
