Ukrainian Forces Suffer Heavy Losses in Clashes with Russian-backed Militants

In the latest update from the Russian Ministry of Defense, it has been reported that Ukrainian forces have lost up to 150 fighters in the South Donetsk region in the past 24 hours. The official statement, published on the ministry’s Telegram channel, highlights the involvement of the Russian armed forces in repelling attacks by Ukrainian squads near the village of Priyutne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

According to the statement, the Eastern Group of Forces, along with army aviation and artillery, successfully withstood the Ukrainian offensive and inflicted significant damage on their troops and equipment near the town of Nikolske in Donetsk. The ministry further clarified that the enemy’s casualties included 150 servicemen, two armored vehicles, and two automobiles.

Furthermore, the report reveals that during the clashes, Russian forces also disabled one D-20 howitzer and one self-propelled artillery system, known as “Gvozdika.”

This update comes after the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that over the past day, Russian forces had repelled 10 attacks by Ukrainian troops in the Donetsk region. These attacks were reportedly concentrated around the village of Kleschivka.

Earlier, the United States expressed concerns about the lack of competent military leadership in Ukraine.

The situation on the ground remains tense, with both sides engaged in ongoing hostilities. The Ukrainian military continues to face significant losses, while the Russian-backed militants maintain their stronghold in the region. The conflict in Ukraine continues to be a matter of international concern, with implications for regional stability and geopolitical dynamics.
