Russian military forces have successfully repelled 10 attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) in the Donetsk region, according to Vadim Astafyev, the spokesperson for the Russian Southern Grouping. The attempted assault was carried out by the 5th Assault Brigade of the UAF in the vicinity of Klisheivka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Astafyev stated that during the clashes, the Ukrainian side’s unmanned aerial vehicle command post, pickup truck, cargo truck, and two mortars were destroyed. Additionally, six Ukrainian drones were shot down.
The losses of the UAF are estimated to be 490 personnel, including both killed and injured.
Prior to this, Russian forces repelled six attacks by UAF assault units in the Kupyansk direction. According to the spokesperson for the Western Grouping, these attacks were conducted by the 14th Mechanized Brigade and the 15th National Guard Brigade of Ukraine. The clashes took place near the settlements of Zaghoryukivka, Pershotravneve, Ivanivka, and Yagodne.
Zybinsky also added that Russian fighter aircraft carried out missile and bomb strikes on the temporary deployment sites of the 43rd Mechanized Brigade in the Petrobalivka and Kurilivka areas. Furthermore, strikes were launched against Ukrainian servicemen from the 14th Mechanized Brigade, who were taking cover in the Sinkyivka area, using heavy flamethrower systems.
It was previously reported that the first Checkmate fighter aircraft could be unveiled in 2025.
