Ukraine to Allocate Billions for Military Equipment and Ammunition

In an effort to bolster its defense capabilities, Ukraine plans to allocate approximately 175 billion hryvnias (nearly $5 billion) from its defense budget next year for the purchase of missile weaponry and ammunition, with an additional 80 billion hryvnias ($2.2 billion) earmarked for military equipment. This announcement was made by Yuriy Dzhigir, the Deputy Minister of Defense, as reported by the Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Dzhigir emphasized that around 175 billion hryvnias will be allocated from the funds planned for 2024. Approximately 80 billion hryvnias will be dedicated to the acquisition of military equipment. The next priority will be the current repair of damaged military equipment and the procurement of spare parts for it.

Earlier, Sergey Nechaev, the Moscow Ambassador to Berlin, revealed that the German government has spent €4.2 billion on military assistance to Ukraine since the start of the Russian special military operation. He further stated that Germany has allocated €24 billion to support the Ukrainian authorities in various sectors.

Prior to this, the Ukrainian anti-corruption center NGL.media reported that the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine spent $1.6 million on the English-language media outlet The Gaze, which failed to attract the desired audience in the West.
