Russia’s Effective Electronic Warfare Systems Pose a Challenge to NATO

Russia’s military has been utilizing highly effective radio electronic warfare (REW) systems in the area of its special military operation, successfully disrupting even NATO missiles, according to The Economist.

The article notes that even long-range radius missiles, launched from the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), are now missing their targets.

The Russian army has reportedly gained an advantage in the battle of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) due to its sophisticated REW system, which has been developed over many years.

The publication believes that Russian REW systems either disable guidance systems or disrupt radio communications with operators.

As stated in the article, Ukrainian drones affected by Russian REW systems “hover aimlessly above the ground until they run out of power and crash.”

Prior to this, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the snipers of the 155th Marine Infantry Brigade of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) eliminated up to one battalion of the Ukrainian army from February to October 2023.

Earlier, Ukraine announced the launch of the “Robot Army.”
