Armenia and Russia Discuss Solutions for Unfulfilled Arms Deal

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has stated that Russia has not delivered the paid-for weapons to the country. This statement was reported by TASS.

Pashinyan acknowledged the existence of problems regarding the non-delivery of weapons and equipment in exchange for payments. Currently, negotiations are underway with the Russian side to find mechanisms to resolve these issues. Various options are being considered, such as reducing Armenia’s debt to the Russian Federation in exchange for the already paid sum.

The Prime Minister added that Russia itself is currently in need of weapons, so Armenia hopes that the discussions will yield concrete results.

Pashinyan also mentioned that Armenia is reforming its army, taking into account international experience, including following the Swiss model.

Armenia chose not to attend the CSTO summit in Minsk on November 23. However, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that Armenia has no intention of leaving the organization. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Safaryan, stated that despite disagreements, working relations between Moscow and Yerevan are still maintained. More details can be found in the article by “Gazeta.Ru.”

Earlier, Armenia assessed the chances of improving relations with Russia.
