Moscow, November 23 – Boris Maksudov, a correspondent for the television channel “Russia 24,” has tragically passed away due to injuries sustained during an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU). This devastating news was announced by Vladimir Solovyov during the “Solovyov LIVE” broadcast. “We have just received the tragic news: our colleague has passed away. Boris Maksudov succumbed to his injuries while en route to Dzhankoy at 6:00. Our team fought for his life, but unfortunately, he suffered severe wounds yesterday,” the journalist stated.
Boris Maksudov was 38 years old and had graduated from the Sochi State University. He began his career in print media before transitioning to become a television journalist. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian President, described the loss of the correspondent as a significant tragedy in an interview with Pavel Zarubin. “This once again highlights the dangerous work that these journalists undertake. And, of course, we must consider that these individuals are direct targets,” stated the Kremlin representative.
Dmitry Kiselyov, the CEO of the International Media Group “Russia Today,” commented on Maksudov’s death, stating that the journalist had fallen as a brave warrior. He emphasized that the profession of journalism is increasingly taking on the color of military service. The television channel “Russia 24” extended its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the correspondent. “Boris Maksudov, who was working in the special operations zone and came under attack by the VSU, succumbed to his injuries without regaining consciousness. On behalf of the “Russia 24″ channel, we express our deepest condolences to Boris’ family and loved ones,” said the host during the broadcast.
The day before, Ukrainian military forces attacked a group of Russian journalists in the Zaporizhia region using a drone. The journalists had been preparing a report on the shelling in the area. Maksudov sustained shrapnel wounds as a result of the attack. The Investigative Committee (SK) has initiated a criminal investigation into this incident.
