Israeli Military Operation in Gaza to Continue for Two More Months

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have announced that their military operation in the Gaza sector will continue for at least two more months, with a brief pause in hostilities to facilitate the release of hostages. Yoav Galant, the Israeli Minister of Defense, shared this information during a meeting with members of the Israeli Navy’s special forces, as reported by The Times of Israel.

Galant stated, “This will be a short pause, after which intensive combat operations will resume.” He further predicted that there will be additional pressure exerted to secure the release of more kidnapped hostages.

“There are expected to be two more months of combat operations,” Galant predicted.

Yesterday, Israel approved a deal with Hamas for the release of hostages held in the Gaza sector. As part of the agreement, a four-day ceasefire will be declared, during which Hamas will release 50 women and children hostages. In addition, representatives from the Red Cross will be allowed access to provide necessary medical assistance to the remaining hostages. Gilad Erdan, Israel’s permanent representative to the United Nations, stated that after the pause, Israel will continue to address the challenges in the Palestinian enclave.

Earlier, Egypt announced the timeline for the ceasefire in the Gaza sector.
