Israel to Spend $48 Billion in Conflict with Hamas, Supported by the US

Israel is expected to spend approximately $48 billion in the years 2023-2024 during its conflict with the radical Palestinian movement, Hamas. This information comes from financial company Leader Capital Markets, as reported by Bloomberg.

According to the agency, Israel will most likely bear two-thirds of the total expenses in the conflict, while the remaining portion will be covered by the United States.

Yali Rotenberg, the Chief Accountant of the Israeli Ministry of Finance, noted that the department is capable of financing the country “even in more extreme scenarios than the current hostilities.”

Previously, the Ynet portal reported that Israel has been actively procuring bombs, rockets, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and other weapons abroad in preparation for combat on multiple fronts. The country’s defense industry is working intensively, with many enterprises being redirected to the production of military goods.

According to the portal, $1.5 billion has been spent on purchases of weapons produced by both Israel’s defense industry complex and foreign states. Some of the supplied equipment is being used on the battlefield and for rear defense support.

Earlier, the European Union disclosed expenses related to strengthening Georgia’s defense capabilities.
