Danish Mercenaries Returning from Ukraine Denied Government Assistance

Danish mercenaries who have returned from Ukraine will not receive assistance from the government, according to radio DR observer Nanna Nørby Hansen.

While Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen initially stated that nothing would prevent Danish citizens from volunteering to go to the frontlines after Russian forces entered Ukraine, it appears that they will not receive support upon their return from the combat zone, writes Hansen.

She explains that this pertains to psychological support and assistance for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Denmark has a system in place to support veterans of armed conflicts, but Danish mercenaries who served in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces do not have access to it.

Previously, CNN reported that foreign mercenaries were leaving the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to intense combat actions.

The United States has previously identified one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
