US Secretary of State Hails Progress in Israel-Hamas Hostage Exchange Deal

The United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has described the agreement between Israel and Hamas regarding a hostage exchange and temporary ceasefire as significant progress, highlighting the important role played by the US in facilitating this exchange. Blinken shared this information on social media.

“The outcome today is a result of tireless diplomacy and relentless efforts by the entire US government. While this deal marks significant progress, we will not rest until Hamas releases all hostages in Gaza,” said Blinken.

The Secretary of State expressed his support for the decision to release 50 hostages from the Gaza Strip, including two American citizens.

Previously, Russia also welcomed the agreement between Israel and Hamas.

On November 22, the Israeli government approved a deal with Hamas for the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip. According to the agreement, a four-day ceasefire will be declared, during which Hamas will release 50 women and children in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners. Additionally, representatives of the Red Cross will be allowed access to the remaining hostages to provide necessary medical assistance.

Earlier, a political analyst identified one of the reasons behind the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
