Japan has announced its plans to send ten auto transformers and five gas turbines to Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Iwao Horii, made this statement during an online meeting of G7+ foreign ministers discussing assistance to Ukraine in the energy sector, as reported by TASS.
Horii emphasized that Japan intends to provide three gas turbines by the end of 2023, with two additional ones currently being procured. He stated that once all the turbines are delivered, they could benefit 5.5 million people.
Previously, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen stated that Ukraine is heavily reliant on the assistance provided by Western countries, primarily the United States.
It has also been reported that disagreements among European Union member countries may jeopardize the plan to provide Ukraine with €20 billion in military aid over the next four years.
The US has previously identified this as one of the greatest threats to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
