Russian Defense Minister Reveals How Russian Navy Deters NATO in the World Ocean

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, during a meeting of the Russian Ministry of Defense, discussed how the Russian fleet is deterring NATO’s naval forces in the World Ocean. According to RIA Novosti, Shoigu stated that Russian ships conducted over 50 campaigns in 2023, covering a total distance of more than 200,000 nautical miles.

“The Russian ships carried out combat duty tasks to deter NATO’s naval forces in the World Ocean. In April, joint patrols were conducted with the Iranian naval forces, and from July to August, with the Chinese naval forces,” the minister shared.

He emphasized that overall, the intensity of combat training for Russian sailors has increased by 1.2 times.

Prior to this, the Russian fleet’s information support department reported that the Pacific Fleet of Russia and the Indian Navy have started joint naval exercises in the Bay of Bengal. It is noted that the Pacific Fleet ships entered the port of the Indian city of Visakhapatnam the day before.

Earlier, NATO had set a condition for the transfer of F-16s to Ukraine.
