Germany to Provide Ukraine with Military Aid for Defense Against Russian Aggression

The German Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, has announced that Germany intends to provide Ukraine with four IRIS T-SLM air defense systems, as well as artillery ammunition. This news comes from the German television channel NTV.

According to Pistorius, the new military aid package for Ukraine will amount to 1.3 billion euros.

Previously, the German Ministry of Defense stated that Germany is preparing a second winter military aid package for Ukraine worth one billion euros. Within this package, Germany will provide additional Patriot air defense systems, IRIS-T missiles, and Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft systems. Pistorius emphasized in his statement that the new aid package is intended to help Ukraine protect critical infrastructure objects at the beginning of winter.

The package is expected to include additional Patriot air defense systems, IRIS-T SLM and IRIS-T SLS missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles. It will also include three 35mm self-propelled anti-aircraft systems (Gepard), 10 Leopard 1A5 tanks, 15 armored vehicles, 20 protected medical vehicles, 155mm caliber ammunition, and small arms.

Earlier, the Italian Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, stated that the ability to further assist Kyiv is decreasing due to limited resources, while the conflict has reached a point where resolving the crisis through military action is not feasible.

Previously, the United States and Ukraine have begun negotiations on security guarantees for Kyiv.
