An Amazon employee at a facility in Mission Viejo, Southern California, was stabbed on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of a suspect. The incident took place near Obrero Drive and Jeronimo Road in the Mission Viejo area, which is located in Orange County, just south of Los Angeles. The victim, a woman in her 40s, was critically injured and has been taken to a nearby hospital.
The stabbing occurred inside the Amazon building, and the suspect, a man, was apprehended by authorities. In response to the incident, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department has urged the community to avoid the area surrounding the facility.
Expressing shock at the act of violence, Alisa Carroll, an Amazon spokesperson, stated that the company is committed to supporting the victim and her recovery, as well as providing assistance to the on-site team. Carroll also expressed gratitude to the emergency medical services and police for their swift response and stated that Amazon will cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
